Sunken Lane
Our second beer. Named after the Sunken Lane on the Somme battlefields in France, this amber ale is brewed in honour of the soldiers who advanced from the lane on the opening day of the Battle of the Somme, and in remembrance of the events that unfolded across the surrounding Beaumont-Hamel sector on the 1st July 1916. All our cans are interactive which takes you to a dedicated page telling the story that inspired the brew.
It pours a rich amber colour with a malt-forward character, offering biscuity depth, light caramel notes, and subtle fruity esters. Noble hops — Styrian Goldings and Saaz — provide a gentle spice, balanced by a clean, dry finish and a smooth, warming body. Brewed with Czech lager malt, crystal and amber malts, and fermented with an Abbey-style yeast.
